Description
Democracy, Conflict, and Social Inclusion
Democracies around the world are experiencing significant challenges in the forms of ethnic conflicts, democratic deconsolidation, human rights violation, and violent extremism. We probe the nature of these challenges, assess how they affect the inclusivity of democratic societies, and highlight how the state and civil society respond to these challenges.
Our studies include:
- Nonviolence and democracy
- Conflict transformation and peace-building
- Reconciliation
- Religion and social movements
- Human rights violation and protection
- Disengagement of violent extremists
