ANNUAL CONVENTION ON THE GLOBAL SOUTH
Institute of International Studies (IIS), Department of International Relations, Universitas Gadjah Mada is committed to bring insights on the studies of International Relations from the perspective of Global South. Bandung Conference and Beyond in 2015 has marked the commitment of IIS in contributing to Global South studies. IIS also actively produces discussion series, seminars, and publications to sharply analyze various issues related to the Global South, and developing insights on International Relations studies from the Global South perspectives. Initiated from the “Bandung Conference and Beyond” in 2015, IIS has committed to contribute to Global South studies by hosting the series of Annual Convention on the Global South (GOSOUTH) that began in 2019.

IIS STRATEGIC TALK
Merged from 3 “Talk” (Humanitarian, Climate and Globalization Talk) IIS Strategic Talk is a discussion series that aim to discuss various specific issues in IR (nuclear weapons, killer robots, globalisation, climate change and so on) in-depth and analytically.

CANGKIR TEH
Cangkir Teh stands for “Berpikir dan Berbincang Tentang Hubungan Internasional”, and is a bimonthly discussion where IIS UGM invites lecturers, academics, students and others to discuss various aspects and a wide variety of topics of International Relations.

BEYOND THE GREAT WALL
Beyond the Great Wall is a bi-monthly discussion where IIS UGM invites lecturers, academics, students and others to discuss various aspects of contemporary Chinese politics that are open to the public. To date, the BTGW forum has entered its fourth year, and IIS UGM has successfully organized 25 BTGW discussions.

STAIR Community
STAIR (Sciences Technology and Arts in International Relations) is a newest IIS UGM program and epistemic community that focuses on the interrelationships of science, technology, and art in the study of International Relations. In this monthly webinar series, students, alumni, academics, and practitioners discuss together to explore new and controversial international relations issues by highlighting the role of STAIR.
