European Studies

EU-Indonesian relations have strengthened significantly in the recent years when both sides enjoy common values on democracy and human rights. In fact, the EU has played an astonishing role in Indonesia democratic transition which was emphasized on the success story of 1999 General Elections. Meanwhile, in terms of economic relations EU rank among the top five of Indonesia export destination and imports origin. The Program on European Studies (EUROS) in the Departement of International Relations Universitas Gadjah Mada aimed to enchance a comprehensive understanding on the EU as well as EU cooperation with Indonesia.

EUROS has set up various partnership with the Indonesian Foreign Ministry; Delegation of the Europan Union to Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, and ASEAN; and Indonesian Community for European Studies (ICES). EUROS is one of the founder of the community and involved in European studies curriculum development. Besides, EUROS also conduct programs such as research on EU-Indonesia bilateral relation, Policy Paper writings, seminars, and conventions.
